Travelers to Mizoram, the hilly state in the north-eastern part of India, can never forget the hospitality and colourful costumes of its people. Puan, an apron-like clothing in the shape of a rectangle, is the most important among traditional wears. The Puan worn over a skirt or frock is used by both men and women. While wearing Puan, men place a shawl over their shoulders.
Frock or skirt and blouse are the common wears of women. However, the Mizo women have a special love for the traditional Puan. Western dress has become a common. The video was shot at OCTAVE 2008, a cultural program focusing on North eastern states, held at Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala. Courtesy:- Indiavideo.org
